A Blog Is Also A Website

It is important to realize that a blog is also a website and should be treated like a website. When launching a blog it requires just as much marketing efforts as a traditional website. A blog needs to promoted in order for web traffic to find you. One major aspect of a blog is its content.

Content is really what the blog is designed for. A blog feeds off of content rich blog posts. That is what drives it’s engine. It is important to always keep writing in your blog in order to get blog posts visible. It requires more than just launching the site for others to see it. Link building efforts will be a must in order to create multiple pathways to your blog. There are many pieces to the puzzle on how to get a blog or website visible and popular but over all blog marketing requires many different steps and angles. You have to treat your blog like a business regardless if you sell anything. Creating a successful blog takes layers and layers of blog marketing efforts to allow the blog to climb in search results. There is no magic pill out there when it comes to online marketing. It requires a multi angled approach regardless of industry.

You’ve just hit on one of phrases that I see very rarely around the web that I think is critical:

You have to treat your blog like a business.

Even if you want to be a “not-for-profit” business model, if you don’t manage your blog correctly and get readers to your site, well then it’s the same as if you had never said anything in the first place.

    I’ve subscribed – nice work.

Well, I’d like to say that a blog is a simple website, not like the traditional website, blog is very easy to manage and save time to write good contents, the author has became more important than the author in traditional website, so I’d love to be a blogger :)

I am gathering different voices and trying to fill our blog with variety and personality. But it is hard work getting contributors. I hope that when I’ve got enough people contributing, it will gather a self generating momentum.

I just read a post, “Your Blog, A Business Or A Hobby” You have to post a lot, and that is work and people don’t like that 4-letter word. Plus you have to think to write something of real value

Quality contenet rather than qantity is the key to success. Too much waffle bores the reader so they will move on. Rich quality informative content will keep the readers interested and more likely to return at a later date.
